This toy is a massive hit! It's incredibly versatile and connects via Bluetooth. My son, who's obsessed with music, has used it daily since his 4th birthday. He loves composing tunes and sounds. Initially, it was overwhelming because the instructions need to be downloaded, but it's worth it. The recording feature has no apparent time limit, and he'd play it all day if possible. However, I have some drawbacks to mention:
1. Battery life: Invest in rechargeable batteries! Amazon's work okay, but Rayovac's didn't last a day, and Energizer's lasted just over a week. With Amazon rechargeables, I get 4-6 days.
2. Brightness: The disco bulb is VERY bright and may not be suitable for households with seizure concerns. It's like a rave!
3. Loudness: It's loud, but not necessarily a bad thing. You can adjust the volume, but be aware it's designed for kids.
*Year Update*: My son still loves this toy, playing with it daily. However, the bottom record buttons are malfunctioning, shutting off the system. I've contacted VTech for help and will update once I hear back. Consider purchasing a 2-year warranty if available.
